  • A Mankato man was sentenced to 90 days in jail and five years of supervised probation for third-degree assault and making threats of violence.  Mankato Free Press
  • A New Ulm man was sentenced to over five years in prison for selling 58.2 grams of methamphetamine in Blue Earth County in 2023, while the case against a co-defendant is still pending.  Mankato Free Press
  • The Mankato Department of Public Safety identified Nyamuol J Koang, 25, as the woman found deceased at Hiniker Pond, confirming no foul play was involved.  Mankato Free Press

  • The Rapidan Dam on the Blue Earth River was significantly damaged due to near record-level river flows and a tree jam, leading to the destruction of nearby properties including the Hruska family's Dam Store, and initiating plans for bridge replacement and dam removal with federal funding.  Mankato Free Press
