- ➤ Mankato Public Safety reported that four fires between Thanksgiving and New Year's led to a 'Keep the Wreath Bright, Prevent a Red Light' campaign to remind residents to dispose of cigarettes, batteries, and waste — a seasonal display is on view at the Public Safety Center on S. Front St. KEYC

- ➤ Yesterday, at Tri-City United High School, Assistant Principal David Ruehs received the Assistant Principal of the Year award from the Minnesota Association of Secondary School Principals for launching the Titan Achievement Academy. He will represent Minnesota in a national contest in Washington (D.C.) this spring. Mankato Free Press
