- ➤ Former MSU art professor Jim Tanner, who taught from 1968 to 2003, is honored by former colleagues and students for his innovative influence on the art department following his recent death from prostate cancer at age 84. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ MnDOT will close the Veterans Memorial Bridge for major repairs starting Feb. 3, forcing nearly 24,000 daily trips to detour via the North Star Bridge and Highway 14. Construction will continue until late 2026 with some work extending into 2027. Mankato Free Press
