- ➤ Mankato Guns and At The Ready Armory report rising permit applications from first-time gun buyers due to increased political tensions. Mankato Guns’ weekend classes now attract up to 28 students, while At The Ready Armory’s online classes have grown from 60 to 100 students monthly — both emphasizing safe firearm handling. KEYC
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Mark Silverberg’s bright oil paintings were shown last Tuesday at Rooms and Rest Furniture and Mattress as part of Twin Rivers Council for the Arts’ Creative Connections program linking local artists and businesses. The exhibit aimed to create paid gigs for creatives while bringing art into everyday community spaces. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ MnDOT will begin closing lanes and shoulders on Riverfront Drive for Veterans Memorial Bridge work starting Feb. 23. Crews will set up platforms under the bridge and may adjust closures if problems arise — later full closures will detour traffic to 2nd Street. KEYC
