- ➤ Visit Mankato is moving forward with a 5-year plan to boost tourism by promoting local businesses and new attractions in downtown and at parks like Minneopa State Park. The plan calls for co-op marketing with local hotels and restaurants and includes future hotel projects. KEYC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The DNR requires anglers to remove ice houses from lakes by the end of Mar. 2; any remaining structures may be ticketed, towed + destroyed while fishing remains allowed after the deadline. KEYC
- ➤ Nicollet County seeks 9 volunteers for its new advisory board on Community Health, Human and Veterans Services to review the county’s budget and programs; applicants must apply by March 31 and selected members will join quarterly evening meetings starting in June (with a $70 per diem and free dinner). HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Mankato Clinic Foundation approved $161,693 in first-quarter grants for local organizations to support health and wellness programs. The awards helped fund services by groups including Greater Mankato Area United Way and WellShare International (13 recipients overall) to boost community care. Mankato Free Press
