- ➤ Colin Jordison switched from a four-year plan at Minnesota State University to South Central College after early classes in automotive engineering did not match his interests — local enrollment in career-ready programs grew 6% from 2023 to 2024. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mankato City Council is considering selling ads on ballfields and pickleball courts—this move could bring in up to $381,000 a year for facility maintenance and youth sports grants. Officials have proposed splitting the revenue into a maintenance fund and a grant program—final details are still under review with changes not expected until 2026. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ A local classic car restorer is told that Minnesota law requires every motor vehicle to have a driver-controlled windshield cleaning device for rain, snow or other moisture— restorers must install working windshield wipers and use headlights and taillights in low-visibility conditions. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ An autism service provider based in the Twin Cities plans to open a new clinic in Mankato in a building that used to be a childcare center. The 11,250-square-foot space at 103 Homestead Road will serve toddlers to 6-year-olds with six classrooms, gym space — and it will employ about 40 people — with an open house planned for fall 2025. - ➤ MSU men's hockey defeated Bemidji State by four to zero Saturday night in the Mason Cup Semifinals to secure an automatic NCAA tournament spot since St. Thomas is not eligible.
