- ➤ Lisa Johnson has transformed an old grain bin on a family farm near Eagle Lake into The BIN: Movement Studio, a space for community fitness classes. The grand opening is set for Friday, March 27 (3-7 p.m.) + Saturday, March 28 (9 a.m.-noon), with free classes offered March 31-April 11. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ On March 14, volunteers winnowed seeds at Living Earth Center's office for spring planting at the center and Blue Earth County Community Farm despite forecasted winter storms; the center also hosted a beginner gardening program for school kids as part of its Seeds to Sauce project (funded by $60,000). Free Oral Cancer Screenings in Mankato & Rochester
In honor of Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Month, Southeastern Minnesota Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery will offer free oral cancer screenings on April 16 from 2 pm to 4 pm at: 2519 Commerce Drive NW, Suite 110, Rochester, Minn., 55901; and 1410 Madison Avenue, Mankato, Minn., 56001. To participate, arrive at one of the clinics during the designated times and ask for a free cancer screening.
