- ➤ City officials approved HUD-mandated upgrades for Orness Plaza, the largest public housing complex in Mankato. The 101-unit building will get new appliances, flooring, ceiling tiles, and system improvements as work continues this spring and summer. Mankato Free Press
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Rodney Shunk fell through the ice at Hiniker Pond while fishing in cold February and was rescued by Tracey Stenberg (who called 911) and David Balk, with both being honored at a Mankato City Council meeting for their lifesaving efforts. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Tune Town in Old Town is hosting Record Store Day today with doors opening at 9 a.m. Owner Carl Nordmeier expects a crowd lining up since midnight for exclusive vinyl releases, live DJs, free coffee, and half-off used records (at the 10,000 sqft venue). Mankato Free Press
