- ➤ Amazon is building a 60,000 square-foot delivery hub in North Mankato’s Northport Industrial Center along Carlson Drive that will employ 75 people and open in December — the facility will help speed local package deliveries from larger fulfillment centers. The Planning Commission and City Council approved a new daycare center at 1720 Bassett Drive featuring 40 parking stalls and five classrooms to serve infants, toddlers and preschoolers. - ➤ On Sunday at 12:24 p.m., officers responded to Eastport Drive after a stabbing that injured a victim's neck and transported them to Mankato hospital — police have identified 23-year-old Lul Gatbel Lul from Lake Crystal as the suspect — who was last seen in a white 2015 Chrysler 200 while wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt. - ➤ Bob Heidenreich, 83, collapsed after giving his remarks at a Bethany Lutheran College Alumni Board meeting in Meyer Hall on Oct.26 and was quickly helped by a 24-member group led by retired fire chief Donald Lehne—who used CPR and an AED—to stabilize him for hospital care. He recovered after eight days in Rochester and later returned to Mankato to attend a rescheduled board meeting and his great-grandchild’s baptism. Mankato Free Press
