- ➤ Bend of the River is hosting Music on Madison, a new outdoor festival scheduled on Sunday, Aug. 30 at Madison East Center — it will feature live bands, a car show, food trucks, and more while tickets go on sale May 1 at 10 a.m. KEYC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Mankato high schools will launch the CEO program this fall to provide selected juniors and seniors hands-on business experience + local mentorship from up to 50 business leaders, with applications open now. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ MSU Mankato opened its new Abraham Lincoln exhibit on Memorial Library's second floor — a permanent display featuring the long-held Lincoln statue and research by social studies experts that examines his role during the Dakota War and its ongoing community impact. KEYC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Dozens attended the MnDOT District 7 ceremony yesterday to honor 36 MnDOT employees + 17 contractors who died working on state roads since the 1960s. Officials stressed that drivers must follow the Move Over Law to protect road crews. KEYC
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Minnesota State won its Tuesday doubleheader against St. Cloud State with scores of 12-1 and 8-2 at their local field. Sam George pitched six innings (striking out seven in game one) and the Mavericks will host Minnesota Duluth on Friday. KEYC
- ➤ Mankato West baseball beat Austin 19-2 on Tuesday. Today, the team will host Owatonna at 5:00 p.m. on its home diamond. KEYC
- ➤ Mankato East baseball team earned a 1-0 win against Red Wing Tuesday — they will play away at Rochester-Mayo on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. KEYC
