- ➤ Feeding our Communities Partners and the North Mankato Taylor Library opened FOCP’s Little Pantry—a free food resource where anyone can take donations without paperwork. The pantry is stocked with community donations and is set up to remove the stigma of hunger while offering help to those in need. KEYC
- ➤ On Thursday, Indivisible St. Peter/Greater Mankato held a May Day protest in St. Peter where protestor Patricia Kuehl said she calls the White House daily to ask about the rule of law — the crowd met along Minnesota Square Park and Minnesota Avenue for worker and immigrant rights — and organizers plan a follow-up protest on Flag Day in June. - ➤ Gardeners can pick up free compost Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Blue Earth County Community Farm at 20612 Indian Lake Road, where they can fill up to two containers with compost and make free-will donations. - ➤ A local nonprofit wrestling club will build a year-round facility in Mankato at Spruce and 2nd Avenue with a groundbreaking on Sept. 1 and a planned opening on Nov. 20 as it raises $800,000 by selling naming rights to grow its roster from 50 to 300 wrestlers. Club members say the new venue will offer more practice and coaching for boys and girls from pre-K to 12th grade to improve local wrestling performance. Mankato Free Press
