- ➤ The Blue Earth County Historical Society is facing a 10% county funding cut that forced elimination of one full-time position amid federal shifts, said executive director Jessica Potter at an MPR forum (at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center). The group will rely on volunteers to preserve local history. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ KEYC & Gray Media launched the Star-Spangled Sing-Off contest on May 1, inviting Americans to submit acapella renditions of national anthem for a chance to win an all-expenses-paid trip to Nashville; entries close May 31 and the winner will be announced July 2 as part of America’s 250th birthday celebrations.
