- ➤ North Mankato resident Beckie Midler (who broke her neck last October and lost her husband in February) had her home painted and cleaned this past weekend after adopters Tyler and Heather Luethje connected her with the Both Hands program. The volunteer project used donated supplies from Home Depot and Sherwin-Williams to ease her burden as the couple raises funds for their Bulgarian adoption. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Bluegrass trio Squid City Slingers was featured on The Warmup where they performed three original songs that mix bluegrass with sounds from different places—'Right Next to Me' reflects the hard work of everyday life.
