- ➤ Kato Go Play returns this summer with free door-to-door rides for kids 18 and under on weekdays from 6:05 a.m. to 8:35 p.m. in Mankato until Sept. 4 (reservations required); riders 19 and up pay $2 one way or $4 round trip with an $20 flex pass for 11 rides. KEYC
- ➤ On Monday, the Nicollet County Sheriff's Office and local law enforcement handed out coupons from Dairy Queen+McDonald's+Kwik Trip at St. Peter, Nicollet and MVL high schools as part of the Toward Zero Deaths initiative; the effort aimed to boost seatbelt use among young drivers. KEYC

- ➤ Boujee Bagels opened its second Mankato location at 501 Holly Lane last Wednesday at 6 a.m. and now serves New York style bagels, organic coffee + breakfast and lunch options on weekdays, drawing large crowds during its opening weekend. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Mankato Area Public Schools is offering free summer breakfast and lunch for children 18 and under through the USDA Summer Food Service Program from May 26 to Aug. 21 at six school sites and via a food truck in Mankato & North Mankato. KEYC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Mankato City Council approved the Campus Cottages project Monday night — adding 84 rental units along Pohl Road for young professionals. Local homeowners raised concerns while council members aimed to ease the housing shortage. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Bethany Lutheran College softball team, with a season record of 32-9, will start its NCAA Tournament run against Calvin University at the St. Mary’s Regional in Winona (first pitch at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday) after winning the UMAC Tournament Championship. KEYC
