- ➤ Mankato’s downtown will showcase 17,000 new flower plugs and 104 hanging baskets today as city workers, seasonal staff, and volunteers plant them in Sibley Park and nearby planter boxes (the city-run greenhouse produced 3,000 more plugs than last year). The effort aims to complete installations across key public spaces to brighten the area for summer. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Mankato city officials are studying lane reductions for road repairs and are seeking public input on the redesign of Balcerzak Drive. Interim Director of Public Works Karl Keel said reducing lanes may improve safety for cars, bicyclists, and pedestrians—while still keeping traffic flowing. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ The Blue Earth County Board will vote at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Historic Courthouse at 204 S. 5th St. in Mankato on bids for a bridge replacement on County Road 139 and for joint road improvements on roads 15 and 28 in St. Clair. M&K Bridge Construction Inc.'s bid of $625,822 and BCM Construction Inc.'s bid of $3,383,383 are on the table, with the projects set to begin this summer and the road work expected to last two years.
