Angela DeMartini and Colby Winkler are co-hosting Kicks and Puppy Licks at Lee’s Champion Taekwondo Academy this Saturday; participants ages 8 and older will learn taekwondo moves and play with six miniature Bernedoodle puppies (sessions at 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. with registration due Friday at $59 per person).

Yesterday, a new Wingstop opened in Mankato next to All Star Nutrition and Sleep Number near the River Hills Mall as crowds lined up to try its menu; the restaurant is Wingstop's 25th location in Minnesota (the second outside the Twin Cities metro area).

Mankato East baseball team beat St. Peter yesterday — scoring 11-1 — in the Section 2AAA tournament and will face Mankato West at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at Mueller Park.

The Mankato West baseball team hosted Jordan Wednesday in the Section 2AAA tournament and won 11-1.

They will face Mankato East Saturday at Mueller Park at 11:00 a.m.

The JWP baseball team is one win away from the Section 1A championship as senior Chase Gerdts (Prep Athlete of the Week) boosts the Bulldogs' strong season.
