- ➤ Fillin Station will close its historic downtown location this weekend after 27 years and move down the street to the former 507 site due to the planned demolition for a new Front Street Plaza project—its owners say it will return once construction is complete. KEYC

- ➤ Southern Minnesota food and agriculture leaders met Thursday at the Greater Mankato Food and Ag Networking Social to build connections and plan for future growth. - ➤ A law signed May 27 expands hiring flexibility for school paraprofessionals in K-12 public and charter schools statewide. Mankato Area Public Schools director John Lustig (who has seen shortages for years) said the change will help ease local staffing gaps. KEYC

- ➤ The Mankato Planning Commission approved permits on Wednesday, May 27 to convert Motel 6 off Highway 22 into affordable assisted living for seniors (officials called it a great community spot). KEYC
