- ➤ South-central Minnesota counties are preparing to take over the Sentence to Service program after the state stops funding it on June 18—officials estimate local costs may rise by about $120,000 to $125,000 to keep similar services running. - ➤ Mayo Mankato expanded its hospital by adding 121 beds with a $155 million project last year to bring its total to 240, yet it still transfers some patients to other Mayo sites such as Fairmont—officials said this is a way to balance bed usage across the system.
