- ➤ At Monday night's city council meeting, public protests over a $130,000 surveillance upgrade caused discussions to adjourn early as critics voiced privacy concerns + social media organizers rallied in opposition. Despite the disruption, the council approved 20 Milestone cameras without facial recognition and activated the license plate reader system, with further surveillance purchases to be revisited in six months.
