Greater Mankato Area United Way has opened registration for its 17th annual Women with Heart Luncheon (11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) on Wednesday, Aug.

5 at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center, with tickets at $40 for individuals and $300 per table of 8 and a keynote by leadership coach Jolly Corley.

Greater Mankato Area United Way will kick off its 2027 campaign & 95th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, July 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center Banquet Hall with free admission, local music, and food provided while supplies last.

Generations Child and Memory Care on Hoffman Road (east side) in Mankato offers residents a daily calendar of activities and intergenerational programs with childcare, ensuring personalized care for each individual.

The facility began an expansion last year that will boost memory care capacity to 30 and be completed by month’s end.

The Mankato Surgery Center is set to expand by 70% on the Wickersham Health Campus to add two new operating rooms & remodel its facilities for outpatient care.

Construction will start this fall with new capacity available before the end of 2027 to meet growing patient demand.

After the April 13 hail storm, construction companies are busy repairing roofs in Lake Crystal (306 permits issued so far) and St. Peter (515 permits recorded) while local officials note many non-local contractors arriving to meet high demand.
