- ➤ A cannabis retail store is proposed for downtown North Mankato pending final approval of a conditional use permit at the city council meeting Monday at 7 p.m. Madeline Peck of Cornflower Blue Properties plans to sell state-approved THC products with reinforced security—local residents have raised concerns about traffic and neighborhood safety. - ➤ Jon Graff became superintendent at St. Peter Public Schools this month after serving as principal at St. Peter Middle School—he plans to tackle resource issues and align district efforts with its key priorities while relying on strong community support. Mankato Free Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting Monday, MDOT said crews will sealcoat sections of highways 14, 15, 30, 60, 99 and 169, which may cause traffic delays and one-day ramp closures on highways 99 between Nicollet and St. Peter and 169 between Blue Earth and Elmore. Each highway segment will be worked on for about a week before crews return to paint striping, with the project expected to finish by late August. Mankato Free Press
