Greater Mankato Area United Way celebrated its 95th anniversary and held its annual 2027 campaign kickoff with live music, food & entertainment.
CEO Barb Kaus said the event aimed to raise $2.5 million for 75 programs supporting local residents.

Dr. Matthew T. Drake, a Mankato native and chief of metabolic bone care at a New York hospital, warns that many older adults face rapid bone loss and advises adding calcium, vitamin D, and walking to daily routines to strengthen bones.
He urges residents to start prevention early to reduce the risk of falls and fractures.
