- ➤ Mankato Clinic Occupational Medicine will close on Aug. 8 while relocating from its Adams Street site to Wickersham Health Campus at 1421 Premier Drive - full operations and patient appointments resume on Aug. 11. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ The Mankato Transit System is offering free bus rides and shuttle service during RibFest, which runs today through Sunday, to help fans avoid driving. Route 7 buses run until 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday—and shuttles during peak hours stop at key downtown locations including the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center and nearby ramp areas. - ➤ Mankato Family YMCA’s Brother/Sister Mentoring Program received a $15,000 grant from the Mankato Clinic Foundation and will use the funds to expand its mentoring services—75 youths are on its waiting list. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ Mankato Transit will offer fare-free buses + shuttles for RibFest 2025 today through August 3 to ease traffic during peak hours. Route 7 runs until 8:30 p.m. on today and Friday while shuttles run on Saturday from 3 p.m. to midnight and on Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at key downtown stops. KEYC
- ➤ Yesterday the Minnesota Air Rescue Team held a helicopter rescue training at Jaycee Park where local emergency workers practiced a rapid rappel drop and a short extraction using a fixed one hundred foot line in a Bell 407. The training helped responders learn how to rescue people from hard to reach areas — officials said it improved readiness for emergencies. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Organizer Justin Ek said funds for the annual Day of the Dead festival are short as less than half of the roughly $50,000 needed has been raised — residents have contributed over $5,000 so far.
