ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 22-year-old man from Vernon Center lost control of his Yamaha Cruiser on Highway 169 at 12:46 p.m. Saturday, was ejected without wearing a helmet, and was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with life-threatening injuries; no one else was involved.  Mankato Free Press

  • Ryan and James Pedersen—father and son artists—created their new sculpture Ripple Effects for the Mankato CityArt Sculpture Walk and it was installed at the Veterans Memorial Bridge after they built a tradition of shared design work since 2019.  Mankato Free Press

  • A reader asked if the inventory of erosion-prone areas is complete and inquired about repair priorities after observing worsening landslide signs on Thompson Ravine. Interim Public Works Director Karl Keel explained that property owners are generally responsible for repairs—though the city can offer reimbursements for municipally owned sites—with no comprehensive ranking in place.  Mankato Free Press
