- ➤ The Salvation Army Day Shelter in Mankato will be open on Labor Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. to serve people experiencing homelessness with meals and showers — Emergency Social Services, the Noon Meal Program and the Thrift Store will be closed in observance of the holiday. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ MSU Mankato has started a Mid-Semester Start program for international students to ease visa issues from last spring—when 12 students had their visas revoked and one was detained—and will offer an eight-week fall session starting in October. The program follows federal visa bans that led to 41 students being withdrawn and aims to keep enrollment open for those affected. KEYC
