  • Todd Johnson, a third-generation furniture store owner, spoke about changes in the 50-year home of his business—he is confident the store on Second and Cherry streets will continue with two generations behind it.  Mankato Free Press
  • The Johnson Furniture store on Second and Cherry streets in downtown Mankato has a long history as a car dealership, farm store, and furniture outlet—its building still shows marks of those past uses. Todd Johnson said the family will keep the store open for future generations as it remains a key local business.  Mankato Free Press

  • Ye Old Mill is celebrating 110 years at the Minnesota State Fair by offering a slow, dark boat ride that brings families and couples back for nostalgic fun—its minor updates, like new fiberglass boats, keep the tradition alive.   • International students at Minnesota State University remain worried about strict visa rules that delayed many from starting school last fall; officials plan to allow those waiting to begin classes in October.
