- ➤ Steve and Betsy Bolint enjoyed a restored Seven Mile Creek after a low head dam was removed to let fish move freely and reduce flood risks. The project cost $490K and was funded with a grant from Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Fund — local DNR teams and the Nicollet Soil and Water Conservation District led the work to improve the creek's natural flow. - ➤ The Love Your Age VINE is holding an expo for seniors on Sept. 16 from 1-4 p.m. at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center — the free event will have 90 vendors, health assessments like blood pressure and balance checks, a flu vaccination clinic by Blue Earth County Public Health, greeting card crafting, and a speaker series with a VINE Stompers performance and talks on healthy eating and aging in place — and is open to all.
