- ➤ On Sept. 20, the 38th Waseca Marching Classic will draw 5,000 people to downtown Waseca where 18 high school bands from Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota will perform in a parade and field show. The event starts at noon with a 75-unit parade, includes a field competition at 5:30 p.m.—with special guests like the Mankato 77 Lancers—and ends with a fireworks display at 9 p.m. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ A 17-year-old driver from Gaylord was injured Saturday night in a collision on Highway 14 in North Mankato—her 2006 Ford Fusion rolled and she was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries while the other driver remained unharmed and alcohol was not a factor.
