GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Drivers in Mankato can now use Adams Street near River Hills Mall after pavement resurfacing work began in early September. The next phase will start Monday, October 6 — temporarily closing the Adams Street and Raintree Road intersection for about two weeks while access to the mall remains available via Sioux Road. KEYC
- ➤ Representatives from the Minnesota DFL gathered in North Mankato Friday at Mayo Clinic Northridge to protest cuts to local healthcare programs & five other Mayo locations set to close in December. Protestors also criticized federal spending cuts and singled out Rep. Brad Finstad as they warned that medical costs in Minnesota’s first district may soon rise. KEYC
- ➤ A section of Adams Street between Highway 22 and Raintree Road reopened Friday and crews are set to start the next phase of pavement-surfacing work. Starting Monday, the Adams Street—Raintree Road intersection will close for about two weeks though drivers can use Sioux Road—with detours posted to reach River Hills Mall. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ Minnesota State football, volleyball, and soccer teams are off to strong starts as the football team will face Concordia-St. Paul, the volleyball squad holds a 12-1 record, and the women’s soccer team remains unbeaten with Rustin named NSIC Defensive Player of the Week.
