- ➤ American Legion Post 518 will fly a flag this November in honor of Army Master Sgt. Woodrow Keeble—at 10 a.m. Nov. 1 members will gather at Wheeler Park in lower North Mankato to start the monthlong tribute. Mankato Free Press
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Mankato’s Dia de los Muertos festival filled Old Town with vibrant decorations, music, food, and community ofrendas on Saturday morning — the streets were closed for art vendors, Mexican wrestling, and a display of cempasuchil flowers brought by organizer Rodrigo Cala. Local residents and educators praised the event for honoring heritage and building community unity. Mankato Free Press

- ➤ LSH football beat Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial 28-6 — they held a 14-6 lead at half and an interception by Jackson Wolf set up a touchdown run by Jack Miller, with quarterback James Wagner leading the drive. The team will face Jackson County Central in the Section 3AA Championship next Friday. KEYC
- ➤ The 23rd-ranked Minnesota State volleyball team lost a four-set match to No. 22 Northern State at Taylor Center — they won the second set 29–27 but the Wolves rallied in tight third and fourth sets. Mary Satori logged 16 kills and Jadyn Lester recorded 58 assists in a closely contested game. KEYC
- ➤ GFW defeated Cleveland 26-7 in the Section 2A semifinal, with key second-half plays helping secure the win. The Firebirds will face Lester Prairie in the Section 2A Championship next Friday. KEYC
- ➤ After winning Game 1 on Friday, Minnesota State men’s hockey swept RPI at home with a 2—1 win as RPI scored first before Felikss Gavars tied it on a power play and Charlie Lurie scored early in the third—goalie Alex Tracy made 29 saves to secure the victory. The Mavericks now head to Minneapolis to face St. Thomas on Friday. KEYC
