Good morning, Mankato.

MY PlaceMankato Youth Place recognized its volunteers and partner professors for service learning on Oct.

30—an annual event that supports youth programs. Members of Southern Minnesota Skating Club earned honors at the Hiawathaland Competition from Oct. 9-11—qualifying for the 2026 National Showcase and setting personal bests.

Mankato property owners who mow near Mayo Clinic, Bethany Lutheran College, and local parks must follow the city code on litter because mowers can spread trash to streets and cause fines.

City and state environmental officials advise cleaning up debris beforehand—this step helps keep our water quality and local wildlife safe.

Volunteers are forming a new Mankato League of Women Voters to join the established St. Peter chapter for voter education and outreach—each group has about 40 members while national approval is expected in March.
