- ➤ At Prairie Winds Middle School, teacher Brett Riss and conservation partners cleared invasive brush from derelict prairie plots using chainsaws, rakes, and chemical treatments as they prepare to plant native species in the coming weeks—this project is part of the Mankato Area Stewardship Program that links local schools with conservation experts.
