- ➤ Students from Mankato West High School launched a holiday light recycling drive to collect old holiday lights at various drop-off sites in town through January 5 — the student team hopes to keep harmful materials out of landfills and support community waste reduction. KEYC

- ➤ Mankato City Council permanently revoked The 507’s Class-B liquor license after repeated fire code and alcohol sale violations, reducing the number of downtown licenses. New operators at 526 S. Front St. must apply for a Class-R license that meets modern food-sale requirements. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ City Council approved forgiving $5,727 in unpaid interest on a $200,000 development loan & set a deal so Cultivate Mankato, the area's fourth largest day care for 144 children, continues under New Horizon Academy ownership. Mankato Free Press
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Multiple rural Mayo clinics will close tomorrow, but a new clinic run by Madelia Health has already started serving patients in New Ulm. The facility offers on-site lab work and comprehensive care (open house from 5 to 6 p.m.) to all ages. KEYC
