EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ MSU has launched a fundraising campaign for a $60 million sports and events stadium on campus as part of its Future State plan; the stadium will seat 6,500 (expandable to 12,000 for concerts and championships) and is set to open in 2029 once additional donation agreements are finalized. REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership closed on the 90-acre Our Lady of Good Counsel campus and will begin redevelopment, including opening a 100-year-old chapel and event spaces by summer and breaking ground on Good Counsel Meadows (a project for affordable housing) next summer. Mankato Free Press
- ➤ The Southwest Minnesota Housing Partnership finalized its purchase of the historic Good Counsel campus, preserving the century-old chapel for events and planning to convert dorms into 120 working-class apartments. Renovation bids will be put out this spring and the main building will host local nonprofits (design work is underway). KEYC
