Small-Scale Homesteading

About this event

Minnesota State Horticultural Society speaker and homesteader Michelle Bruhn will share her experiences creating connections between people, plants, and their communities by cultivating a deeper reverence for nature’s wisdom, preserving food, saving seeds, and other homesteading techniques.

In her book, Small-Scale Homesteading , Bruhn shares how she grows her own food, taps maple trees to make gallons of homemade syrup, raises a small flock of laying hens, and more.

This event was made possible in part with a grant from the Arts & Cultural Heritage Fund of the Minnesota Clean Water, Land, and Legacy Amendment through the Traverse des Sioux Library System.
